WiFi calling w/ prepaid sim

I am unable to make WiFi phone calls using my personal prepaid account with my personal phone. However, I am able to make WiFi calls with my personal phone when I put my work phones Telstra postpaid account simcard in my phone (and unable to make WiFi calls from my work phone with my personal sim). Thus it seems that my account or my sim are the limiting factors, not my phone capabilities or settings.

Do I need to upgrade my sim or my account to allow me to make WiFi calls? If so, can I do it without visiting a Telstra shopr?

I live remote and cannot easily access a Telstra shop, Telstra's online 'assistance' is not very helpful, and they are presently not taking phone calls (calling from my work phone).

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help
