Changes to some of our Mobile Broadband Plans


What is changing?

We recently sent you a notice to inform you we are making changes to our plans.


We will be updating your mobile broadband data service to our new Extra Small (XS), Small or Medium data plans. The details of your new plan are shown below. Please refer to the notice we sent you for the date from which this plan change will take place.

Critical Information Summary


All inclusions for use in Australia. Once you exceed your included data allowance, your speed will be capped at 1.5Mbps; and slowed further in busy periods.


Why have we made these changes?

We created these new plans to better meet the current and future needs of our customers. We also made a commitment to simplify our products and plan offerings, so we’re moving all customers to our latest plans.


How does this change affect my service?

Your monthly plan cost will change, as outlined in your notification, and you’ll get the new data allowance with no excess data charges in Australia.


I don’t want to move to the recommended plan in my notification

Unfortunately, you’re not able to stay on your current plan but there are other options available to you. All our new plans are month-to-month so you can change to another plan or cancel your existing plan at any time without cancellation fees. Just remember, if you cancel your plan but are still paying off a mobile handset, you’ll need to pay out any remaining handset charges. This also applies to repayments on any accessories that are attached to your plan.

How do I know what plan I’m on now?

Your most recent Telstra bill is the best place to go. The name of the plan is listed against each service. On your bill, you’ll also be able to find out more information about your current plan cost and any monthly mobile credits or bonus data.


 What other mobile plans do you offer?

For more information on our current mobile plans, visit our online store or your nearest Telstra Store.


Do the updated plans include 5G network access?

Our Medium Mobile Plan ($65/mth, 80GB) and our Large and XL mobile plans provide 5G network access on a compatible device in selected areas. Outside of 5G areas, you’ll switch to 3G/4G.


I changed plans recently and already have one of Telstra’s new plans.

Please ignore this notification if you are on one of Telstra’s new plans.


When will the plan change happen?

We will begin automatically updating plans from the date outlined in your notification.


How will my bill be impacted by this change?

Your first bill following the plan change could look a little different. You may see part-month charges for your old plan and your new plan due to the plan change taking place mid-bill cycle.
