The "Thanks for contating us" name is not the same as the person I talked to
I rang up the call centre to change my direct debit account details for my bigpond account (that is another issue, most companies I would normally try to do this online but I usually find the Telstra system hard to follow so it is easier to call) and talked to a lady who did all the stuff I needed done quickly but then I get an email from Telstra saying thanks for contacting us and it was from Paul. Maybe I either miss read the voice as a female when it was a male or my bias to thinking that Paul is usually a male name. It could be my fault but just seemed strange so I thought I would report it.
