Sites being blocked

I turned on this facility yesterday just as a test and it started blocking various sites with the following message

This site can’t provide a secure connection.

I removed the Broadband Protect facility (still awaiting the order to process) but still unable to access these sites.  Does anybody know where these are being blocked from and can I change the settings?

I am on an iMac,

Any suggestions please?

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Re: Sites being blocked

@deadlegs

It going to depend on what sites your trying to get to??

Yes the ISP's have been court ordered to block some sites because of pirating and copyright issues.

some sites have Geo-blocking enabled.

some just appear blocked due to maintenance on the sites

some just have resolving issues or failed validity certificates.

Telstra customer 15+ yrs, I am not a Telstra employee and never have been

Kudos and thanks welcomed

Re: Sites being blocked

The blocking applies to your Broadband Service at the Network. You'd need to wait for the protection to be removed from your Broadband Service before you'd be able to visit the malicious websites that we block - no matter what device you use https://www.telstra.com.au/support/category/broadband/security/how-to-use-network-protection
