Auto Delete Emails off server 30 days after downloading to Outlook
Auto Delete Emails off server 30 days after downloading to Outlook
Would have thought this be a given for all with IMAP which syncs and doesn't remove emails thus eventually exceeding mailbox quota of Telstra

Re: Auto Delete Emails off server 30 days after downloading to Outlook
In Outlook, go to File | Account settings - select the email account, click on Change..
In the next window, just a bit past half way down under Mail Settings .. move the slider all the way to the left (1 Month).. click Next then Done to exit..
I have rules setup to move all incoming email (from all accounts) to a common inbox, there I can manual save them to the appropriate location.. that way the server can only see that they no longer exist in te account inbox, and treats them as deleted at the server.. my bigpond inbox is usually empty unless there is a rogue (risky) email present..
Too many devices, probably an addict :-) also a tinkerer and developer of stuff..
Not with Telstra, just another customer like you!

Re: Auto Delete Emails off server 30 days after downloading to Outlook
It's a setting in Outlook that needs to be set by the end user. It can't be set by the Telstra Mail system.
Do you have a question about it?

Re: Auto Delete Emails off server 30 days after downloading to Outlook
Hi - if you have exceeded your Telstra mailbox quota and are not able to receive emails, have you Emptied the contents of your Deleted Items and Junk Mail Folders - right click and Empty. This may remove all the emails that are clogging up your quota from the Server thereby freeing up your mailbox for new emails - it works that way for Windows Live Mail 2012 email client, so assume it should work for the Outlook Email client.
