Hi aquastar The settings you'll use can depend on which BigPond email platform you are on, this may help: How To Troubleshoot Problems With Sending or Receiving Emails

Re: Bigpond email not working on Windows Live email 2012

U need to use these settings for Live but you have to first enable POP by setting up and registering for a microsoft account, which the tutorials say nothing about

Account type

POP3

Incoming server details

  • Server address

pop-mail.outlook.com

  • Port

995

  • Encrypted connection

SSL

Outgoing server details

  • Server address

smtp-mail.outlook.com

  • Port

587

Thanks for posting that Aquastar - if it's a Bigpond Email service hosted on Outlook.com servers, POP and IMAP should be activated by default, the user shouldn't have to make any settings changes.

Cheers,
