Hi Lazzdogg,

Have you tried migrating the other email account using this link? https://messaging.bigpond.com/email-wizard

Re: Bigpond > Hotmail Integration

Hi

I have this exact same problem happening now in 2015.  However the link you gave no longer does anything.  Is there still a way to solve this problem?

This link no longer works https://messaging.bigpond.com/email-wizard

Thanks

Re: Bigpond > Hotmail Integration

Hi Tony,

Voluntary migrations to Outlook.com have now ceased, therefore the mailboxes will remain on their current mail platform.  You can confirm which platform your email is on by logging on to the following tool http://www.telstra.com/emailservercheck

If you find the mailbox is still on the BigPond platform you can contact our Billing team on 132200 to discuss the possibility of getting it moved to Outlook.

Re: Bigpond > Hotmail Integration

OK Thanks Ben.  That link emailservercheck was very helpful.

So my problem is that when I create accounts on my new Windows 8 laptop, I can only create accounts and use OneDrive using my account which is on Outlook.com but not using my wife's account which is still on bigpond.

What is the solution to this?  Is this something that the Billing team on 132200 can help me with?

Re: Bigpond > Hotmail Integration

Hi Tony,

Do you want to set up a Windows 8 account on your laptop for your wife so that she can have access to a OneDrive account?

If No, and you just want to have a local windows account set up on your laptop for your wife, this is possible (but it will not allow access to OneDrive).  Here is a simple tutorial I found on a website, not associated with Telstra which explains how to do so: http://www.hanselman.com/blog/HowToSignIntoWindows8Or81WithoutAMicrosoftAccountMakeALocalUser.aspx

If Yes, and you want your wife you be able to have an account set up on your laptop, using her BigPond email address and able to use a OneDrive account then I would:

  • Firstly, contact the Billing team on 132200 to see if they are able to move her email address across to the Outlook.com platform.  They may be able to do this but it could take several days for it to happen.

  • Microsoft have also said on their website that 'you can use an email address you already have as your Microsoft account, or create a new Microsoft account at Outlook.com'.  You can find out more about this on the Microsoft website here:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-live/sign-up-create-account-how

I have also found another 3rd party website you may wish to look through first  which advises the same thing: here: http://www.7tutorials.com/simple-questions-what-windows-live-id
