Bigpond webmail always times out

Hi, no matter what computer or internet connection I use, I always encourage the below error when signing in.  How do I resolve this 'time out' issue or even speak to an actual person at Telstra to have this resolved?  I always get hung up upon when phoning in and sent to a text message with a link to a digital messaging services which is completely unhelpful.


I believe the issue maybe due to the high volume of email that is trying to be downloaded.  For some reason, many old historical emails are being re-downloaded and causing the time out/crash.  I have the same problem with Outlook and even Microsoft Mail seems to be timing out.


I note per my screenshot below that there maybe issues on Telstra's end as this has been an issue for me for a number of weeks.  Per the screenshot below has Telstra been unable to fix Bigpond email problems for over a month?
