Cant access my webmail inbox

Answered

I can't access my emails after login. It won't load my inbox then say 'this request to longer and timed out'. It's been doing this for a few weeks and I've asked if it can be fixed and still no response. I don't want to miss any important emails and I need someone from Telstra to fix the problem and advise me when it is done (by phone as I can't access my emails). This is the third time I've asked for it to be fixed and it's not good enough for a company like Telstra. Please can someone at Telstra fix it?

Re: Cant access my webmail inbox

It's not a problem that is specific to your service. There has been a problem with one of the email servers for about 6 weeks. See the notice from the outages page for possible remediation steps.

Some customers attempting to login into webmail (email.telstra.com) may be experiencing delays in sending, receiving or webmail loading during busy periods of the day. This is because one of our email servers is currently experiencing technical issues. The situation has been improving, however we are aware that some customers may still be experiencing delays. As an alternative customers can access their BigPond email through mail programs via the PC, Tablet or Phone. For guides on how to set this up, please visit: https://www.telstra.com.au/support/category/email/how-to/set-up-windows (Windows) https://www.telstra.com.au/support/category/email/how-to/set-up-mac (Mac) or https://www.telstra.com.au/support/category/email/how-to/set-up-mobile (Mobile). Re: Cant access my webmail inbox

And 6 weeks later Telstra still hasn’t resolved the issue? my wife and i have had problems with emails not loading into our Outlook client for weeks. MS support have been patiently working through the problem with my thinking it was an MS Outlook problem. MS Support suggested yesterday i tried accessing my Bigpond email directly which I tried yesterday only to find i was getting the same issue as RHCP. I think its a disgrace it has taken so long to resolve. A more appropriate response from Telstra is required please ASAP

Is that on a phone or computer?.

Does Outlook not receive any emails or does it timeout?.

Re: Cant access my webmail inbox

We run MS Outlook on iPhones, iPads, MacBook’s and an old iMac. Email refresh has been taking days recently with Outlook saying it was up to date even though an email hasn’t been received for several days. I always thought the problem was an MS / Outlook problem but when i checked yesterday to see if i could login to Bigpond Webmail directly and send and receive emails directly from the browser, I couldn’t get passed the Inbox timeout error reported by another user.

Are you from Telstra support?

I am not from Telstra support.

My Outlook app works on my iPhone.

I would normally suggest adjusting the server timeout settings in Outlook on a pc or Mac however you have not reported any such error messages.
