Delivery Status Notification message when trying to send from Gmail

Hi there,

 

I've been intermittently getting the below delivery failures when sending and forwarding messages from my @bigpond.com account using Gmail. The recipients are in my contacts and I have been able to send them messages successfully in the recent past. Just now I tried to forward a message to 10 people and I got 9 delivery failures. This has become a common occurrence but the address(es) that did work can often be different each time. It is inconsistent as messages sometimes send and sometimes not. Sometimes I have had success after 3 or 4 tries sending to the same address.

 

I have read through some other content in CrowdSupport and have recently updated the server settings from bigpond.com to testra.com but it hasn't fixed the problem.

You're sending this from a different address or alias using the 'Send mail as' feature. The settings for your 'Send mail as' account are misconfigured or out of date. Check those settings and try resending.

550 Service unavailable OB511

Thanks for the update. We believe that this issue should now be resolved, but please provide some examples if you encounter this same issue with Gmail again.

Can you confirm the outgoing mail server settings that you have configured?

 

We recommend that customers use 

  • SSL with port 465

Got the same issue here. 

 

Using my @gmail.com account & Sending email messages as my @bigpond.com account does not work. This happens most of the time. I tried sending test emails, almost all will have an error of:

But i tried to set up my @yahoo.com account & send email messages as my @bigpond.com account works, though.

 

 

I have tried to re setup the 'send message as' in my gmail account... nothing fixes the issue

- mail.bigpond.com

- SSL

Did you ever get a solution to this? I am having the same issue at the moment. Was fine till this morning and I havnt changed any settings?

Just to add to this, I have 2 bigpond accounts. One sends fine, but the issue is with my primary address.

Both accounts set up the same using port 465 SSL.

anyone help???

A fix for this is being rolled out over the next few days. Please keep an eye on it and report any issues you are still having after Friday 2nd.

Hi @Shellock,

 

 

Hope this helps... Between 1pm and 1.10pm (sydney time) (June 06, 2017, tuesday), I tried to "send as" my 'bigpond.com' account via my 'gmail.com' account and  I tested about 50 email sending, 14 of which bounce back with the error below.

Do you need more information?

Just wanted to let you know i have tested about 200 email messages a while ago, and everything seems okay now... does everything back to normal now?

For curiosity's sake, would you mind telling us what was causing the problem?

Set it & forget it

With direct debit there’s no need to give paying your bill another thought.

Avoid queuing up and never worry about late fees again.
