Email being rejected by bigpond.com

I am trying to send email to a distribution list from a Gmail (G-Suite) account, all 40 addresses in the list at bigpond.com fail with "The recipient server did not accept our requests to connect. Learn more at https://support.google.com/mail/answer/7720 [extmail.bpbb.bigpond.com. 203.36.172.106: 421 4.4.2 Connection refused from 209.85.128.68. IB114 ] [extmail.bpbb.bigpond.com. 203.36.137.234: 421 4.4.2 Connection refused from 209.85.128.67. IB114 ] 
Interestingly sending to a smaller list (5) works.
Outgoing email server is smtp.gmail.com

This might be a residual problem from the wider Telstra email issue. https://outages.telstra.com/#/

 

Have you tried sending just one email to see if that works? Do you another Telstra/Bigpond email address (one of your own) that you can test to?

 

It will probably have little effect, but you could try extending the timeout setting for the  outgoing server of the gmail account?

Thanks for the feedback, single user works, a DL of 5 works. I will wait for a few days and see what happens.
