Email posting denial

I have received the following when I tried to send an email. I have not been active for at least 36 hours, until now; Can anyone advise if it is a Telstra item, or do I have something that has bypassed windows security & AVG light.

Too Many Requests

This message should not be seen during normal system usage

Your IP address has made too many login requests in too short a time span.

If you are having legitimate password problems then wait a minute or so and try gain. You could close all browser windows and try again as well.

There may be an instance where multiple people are sharing the IP address. An example of this is if you are behind a corporate proxy. In this case one or more other users may have pushed this IP over the detection threshold. The advice is the same as above. If it persists then you should get your IT department to contact Telstra on your behalf, providing your company name, contacts and corporate proxy IP address range(s) so Telstra is aware of the proxies.

If excessive attempts continue to be made then the IP will be blocked for longer and a case lodged to both Telstra Security and ISP owning the IP.

Re: Email posting denial

If you are using the Webmail interface, then clearing your browser's cookies and cache should fix the problem.

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.
