Email setup not working on Mac or iPad/iPhone

Answered

None of the instructions found on here or the Telstra Websites work for me.

It always tells me the password is incorrect yet the password works jst fine using the browser.

Am I the only one without a working email and data usage meter?

Re: Email setup not working on Mac or iPad/iPhone

It was a simple solution for me, not sure if it applies to others.

Since Telstra are using an outdated pop email standard, modern system not used to such antiquated standards, such as Outlook, need to be authorized to use it.

You need to log into your Outlook account via your browser, click on settings (the little wheel in the top right corner), choose options.

Under "Managing your account" go to

Connect devices and apps with pop

and turn on pop.

That's it.

Re: Email setup not working on Mac or iPad/iPhone

Can I just clarify this?

I AM able to receive bigpond email on my PC though Outlook 2013.

I am UNABLE to receive bigpond email through Outlook 2103 on my Ipad.

What browser activates the setting options you mentioned?

24/7 support could not offer any solutions.

Your help is appreciated.

Re: Email setup not working on Mac or iPad/iPhone

Sorry Shelly,

I followed the steps above.

No - that didn't work. No solution found to this problem. 24/7 was not able to provide assistance.

I have ipad 1OS8 using outlook 2103 and the only email I can not receive is bigpond.

Outlook 2103 on PC works fine.

I have been working on this for 5 days now. I have tried all options and combinations to no avail.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

We don't provide support for Outlook 2013 on tablets. As you know the account and its settings work, I would recommend contacting Telstra Platinum on 137 587.
