NO ADDITIONAL MAILBOXES

Answered

I am a new customer, did some research before coming across to Bigpond. Said up to 14 mail boxes, now I'm in I tried following the guides, read the forums, all dated information....that should have set off alarm bells. get on the mobile app only to be told they no longer support additional mailboxes. So that's it, one email account , Thanks very much!!

Re: NO ADDITIONAL MAILBOXES

Telstra Mail hasn't been taking new customers/accounts since the 20th September 2020.

It's in their customer terms document.

Re: NO ADDITIONAL MAILBOXES

To be honest, Telstra is giving every indication of exiting the email market..  and their email systems are fraught with issues and outages..  even Telstra prefer you to use an external email address for your account communications

You will be better off creating new accounts with one of the bigger provider such as gmail or outlook.com  much safer and a lot more portable for you as a user..

Re: NO ADDITIONAL MAILBOXES

That may well be the solution.  But if it is, I would honestly like them to advertise that fact.

Re: NO ADDITIONAL MAILBOXES

Not 100% sure what you are needing to change. Were your services owned by your business or are they personal accounts?

It may be difficult to get a new Telstra email address as they aren't creating any new ones.

As far as a Telstra ID goes, you can create a new one and then get a consultant to migrate your attached services across from the  old Telstra ID to the new one.

Re: NO ADDITIONAL MAILBOXES

You'll be far better with a standalone (free) portable email account/s, eg gmail,   which can be used as web mail or POP/Imap through Outlook etc.   They are far more reliable and properly maintained. As good as Telstra's networks are/used to be, they have never mastered email services as well.
