Setting up Email Account on Ipad.

Hi, I'm trying to set up my bigpond.net.au email account on my ipad but its not recognising the password/username, both of which should be correct.

 

I keep getting "The username/password for imap.telstra.com is incorrect" error message.

 

PLEASE don't tell me to reset my password, I've done that and I know the new one works as I've accessed my account on the PC with it.

It may be your email incoming and outgoing settings that are incorrect. Has your email account been migrated to the new Telstra mail platform? if you log into webmail does it say myconnect or outlook at the top of the page?

I am having the same issue.

My account says TelstraConnect not Outlook. Is that the issue?

I have tried to set up the account on two different iPads and get the same message.

Hi I am having the same issue trying to setup my bosses bigpond account on an iPad, I have logged into webmail and it say "my connect" at the top of the sceen

With the myconnect platform you will have to set it up manually on an iPhone/ipad. Settings are here under bigpond email https://www.telstra.com.au/support/category/email/set-up/imap-pop-and-smtp-information-for-manual-em...

I tried all the old and new settings and the result in the case of the mail.bigpond.com was it asked if I wanted to try connecting without SSL, I answered yes and then it simply said it wasn't responding. In the case of the IMAP settings same error saying the the password on the imap.xxxx was incorrect etc.

 

Any ideas would be appreciated
