Why won’t webmail let me send a single photograph?

I’m logged into webmail via the website, using an iPad running IOS 12.4.1. I’m trying to send an email with a single photograph attachment. The photograph was taken with an iPhone. Maximum message size exceeded [Err code: 554].

Aside from the horrible experience webmail has become, why won’t it allow me to send this?

I am NOT a business, just a home user.

The photo is too large in size. Check the size of the photo and then reduce it. I think there is a 5MB limit.

Probably a silly question, but do you have MMS enabled on your device?

Have you used it to send photos previously and dis you recently do any updates just before this issue occurred?

Are you just using the phone LTE service or do you have WiFi Calling enabled?

They're using the Telstra Mail webmail site to send a photo as an email attachment, not MMS.

OK..  I am working on something else, I should stop the CrowdSupport stuff while I finish it..
