You are a genius, it has totally worked, I have been trying for a couple of frustrating days. Had to restart everything from the beginning as if I just got it but it was worth it. Thanks for your help 😀Hope this helps others as well.

Try disabling band steering the modem's 2.4 GHz WiFi settings. This separates adds -5G to the SSID of the 5GHz WiFi band.

Sorry I am not technically advanced, how do you disable band steering the modems 2.4 GHz wifi settings?

Open a web browser on device connected to modem and go to http://192.168.0.1, password is Telstra. Go to WiFi, scroll down, remove tick next to Band steering and save settings.
