Unlinking Telstra TV seems impossible

Trying to unlink a Telstra TV device. I followed the steps, factory reset etc. Checked my account, and it looked OK: no registered devices. Happy days. Then I switched on the device to make sure it's not linked to my account, and ups: It says 'Hi LASZLO, Welcome to Telstra TV' and prompt me the link to automatically link the device to my account again - with no questions asked. So if I give away this device, anyone can link it to my account without my permission at all.  HOW CAN I REALLY UNLINK IT? Please help, it will kill me...

I'm having the same issue. No one from Telstra has been able to assist. I believe the device is registered against your account on the Telstra backend and they're probably need to remove it.

 

Can anyone from Telstra TV Support assist with this?

I have seen a couple of other posts whereby https://tv.telstra.com.au/home.html  hasn't worked.

 

The only suggestion is to contact support to get them to manually remove it.

 


Due to the temporary COVID-19 support issues, it is best at this time to chase it up via the My Telstra app, use the "Get Help" icon at the bottom of the screen and leave a message. That will go in a queue and be answered as soon as they can.

Yeah I tried that before looking here. My chat went to 6 different consultants. All of them try to help but in the end they pass the buck and make it the next consultants problem. None of them knew what they were talking about or were able to help.

 

I didn't think it would be that hard to look up a customer, check if the Telstra TV is linked to a customer and delete it. Done. But no... this is the Telstra way... everything is hard.
