Account Security



I recently logged into my account via the internet and notcied that my contact number had been changed to one I didn't recognise.I updated it and called Telstra support directly.


I was informed that my contact number was correct (I know I just changed it back) and that they didn't see any issue with my account. I asked if there were any ways to increase the security on my account to ensure that I'm the only one who can change my contact details. They told me no and effectively ended the call.


Is there any way to increase security on my telstra account to ensure that I'm the only one who can change my details? (eg security questions / 2fa)

There already is. If you log in from an unfamiliar device, you should be sent a 6 digit code to either your mobile or email that needs to be entered and then it can use your 4 digit pin instead.


You set that up through your profile in the My Telstra app.

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.

Set it & forget it

With direct debit there’s no need to give paying your bill another thought.

Avoid queuing up and never worry about late fees again.
