Unable to connect My Telstra app to my new account

I am really frustrated with Telstra. I am a new customer, got the app, got the account number but everytime I login to the app it tells me 'lets connect your account' and then "we are unable to match your info".

Chat support asks me same questions million times and not able to help... Its really the worst service I have experienced with any provider in Australia. 

Comeone. Atleast help your customers.

And to top it all, they asked me to reinstall telstra app. I did and then it erased all chat history. Wow! 

Does anyone have such experience? is this related to a new account? Thanks in advance
