unauthorised porting

My Mobile number was used for identity and financial theft after it was illegally ported from me, I was told by Telstra that my number has just disappeared, not happy, I've had the same number since mid 90's, now Telstra has let the person who stole my number keep it, how do I get it back?

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Re: unauthorised porting

Hi @Catvet, your best bet is to formally raise a complaint, the person who ported your number would've provided the new provider with your account details as well as their own identification and if they are someone else's, the new provider shouldn't have any issues transferring ownership of the number back to you.

While I am a Telstra employee, I am not an official Telstra representative on CrowdSupport. My opinions are my own and do not necessarily represent those of Telstra.
