How to change the WiFi channel on the Technicolor TG587nV3 & TG582n ADSL Modems

 

  • Enter the following IP address, 10.0.0.138, into the address bar of your browser (or just click on this on the link if your device is connected via WiFi or Ethernet to the modem in question)

  • Click on the blue Wireless link at the bottom of the page, under Home Network.

  • This will take you to a new page titled Wireless Access Point. In the top right hand corner, click on the Configure link.
  • This will show you more options and allow you to configure the Wireless Access Point page.

  • Find the field named Channel Selection, normally the drop down box will show 'Automatic'. Click on the down arrow at the end of the drop down box and select a new channel. 
  • Click on the Apply button at the bottom of the screen. 

    Our preferred channels to try are channels 1, 5, 6, and 11. However, with trial and error, you may find an alternate channel that works best for you.

How to Enter Your Username and Password into the Technicolor TG587nV3 & TG582n ADSL Modem.

 

  • Enter the following IP address, 10.0.0.138, into the address bar of your browser (or just click on this on the link if your device is connected via WiFi or Ethernet to the modem in question)

  •  Under the title Broadband Connection, click on the blue link titled 'Internet'. You will be directed to a new page titled Internet.

  • To top right of that box you will see a button 'Disconnect'
  • Click on the 'Disconnect' button. You will now see a Username and Password field which you can modify. (It will probably be newdsluser@bigpond.com for modems that have been reset to factory settings).
  • Enter in your BigPond email address and remove the dots in the password window before adding your password.
  • Click on the 'Connect' button.

    Note: If your modem has been failing authentication for a long period of time, you may need to wait at least 5 minutes to confirm that the login has been successful.
