Stuttered dial tone

When I pick up the landline phone I get a stuttered dial tone.

What does this mean, and how can I get rid of it?

 

I have the NBN connected.

I have previously turned of Home Messages 101, and have never set up Message Bank. I do not want either of these services.

I wonder whether the strange dial tone could actually cause a problem?

 

I have dialled #99# and received the response "your messagebank service is off"

If i dial 101 it says "welcome to telstra message bank. since this is the first time you've used TMB, [go throught hte setup process]"

If you just had NBN set up, since most of the bundles include MessageBank it is likely that it might have been applied unintentionally during the order process.

If you contact the NBN support team on 1800TFIBRE they can make sure it is turned off at an account level which should hopefully make sure it is off.

Thankyou DrQerty90. I did as you suggested and it was fixed very quickly.

Set it & forget it

With direct debit there’s no need to give paying your bill another thought.

Avoid queuing up and never worry about late fees again.
