Gateway Pro (Netgear V7610) Login & Password for adsl

Just got this modem and every time l change the adsl username and password, and save....it disappears....l get dsl light but no logon so no internet.....tried reset.....and telstra support.....anybody please help...

If you are you using the set up wizard try entering the details manually (Basic > Internet)

 

"Does your connection require login" yes

"Internet Service Provider" PPPOE

"Connection Mode" Always On

"Internet IP address" Get Dynamically from ISP

that's how l have set it up....l entered username and password  and save and those details disappear ....

In the Login box you have entered the username which will look something like this "namexxx>@direct.telstra.net", entered the password in the password box and clicked on apply?

That is exactly what l have done then after clicking apply l get the spinny wheel for about 5 seconds then the box clear them selves and become blank

The connection you have it is a ADSL and not a FTTN? If the connection is FTTN should use following settings.

 

"Use WAN uplink mode" Selected

"Does your connection require login" No

"Internet IP address" Get Dynamically from ISP

 

There is no need for user name.

 

If ADSL there was one setting I forgot to mention in previous post..

"Use WAN uplink mode" Not selected

The only other thing I can suggest is to try the connection Wizard. If that doesn’t work then there is nothing else you can do apart from contacting support. It might be a faulty modem. If you are not satisfied with support efforts to fix the problem lodge a complaint by ringing 132200 and when asked for reason say complaint or use online form.
