From 30th October 2018, there will be a price increase on select Foxtel from Telstra packages. This increase allows us to continue investing in premium programming and products, giving you access to the best content possible.

Will the price rise impact me, and how much will my service cost increase?

The price rise will impact Foxtel from Telstra customers on the Entertainment base pack, Essentials base packs, and Platinum/HD package.

Existing Foxtel from Telstra customers on the Entertainment On Us offer will not be impacted by the price rise until they are out of contract (provided they meet the minimum monthly spend conditions associated with the offer).

The following price increase will take effect from 30th October 2018, and impacted customers will be notified prior to this date:

  • The Entertainment & Essentials base packs will increase by $3 per month. Hence the Foxtel from Telstra Retail Rate for any tier combination will increase by $3 per month (excluding the Platinum & Platinum HD packages detailed below).

  • For customers on Foxtel current base packs (Entertainment) and are subscribed to the hard packaged Platinum HD, the price with increase by $2 per month (note: this does not include customers on a BYO Platinum HD package).

  • For customers on Foxtel legacy base packs (Essentials), and are subscribed to either hard/BYO packaged Platinum or Platinum HD, the price with increase by $2 per month.

  • For customers on Foxtel Legacy Sport, Movie & Platinum who have a non-recordable box, we will remove the retail discount in addition to the above price increase.

Why is the price increasing?

For Entertainment/Essential customers:

  • This price change allows continued investment in premium programming, products and access to the best content possible.

For Platinum/HD customers:

  • Platinum HD customers will also enjoy more than 200 complete seasons and a new drama or returning series every week, streaming, live and ready to watch anytime.

  • Foxtel’s unrivalled sporting line-up is also soon to get a boost with the addition of live cricket offering every bowl of every over coming later this year.

  • Platinum HD customers will also enjoy new on demand content featuring hundreds of hours of entertainment ranging from familiar favourites to new shows express from the US.

Time to dust off the VPN and cancel Foxtel i think.

Aslo i think theres an ACCC submission in for Foxtel to justify the charges as being forced to pay for something the we dont use is not on. Telstra may want to cover your bum when the ACCC get involved

.

I remember seeing ads on TV that Foxtel now includes Netflix and Stan.

How do I go about getting this inclusion?

I have IQ3.

THis page says the price is going up $2 a month.  The email you sent me says it is going up $12 a month.  That is a price rise of 17%.  you have got to be kidding.  I will be cancelling.

It is time to consider alternative - Foxtel has become rubbish anyway; the amount of commercials almost exceed free to air channels (apart from movies, which play forever the same). On the top, I RENT the equipment from Telstra/Foxtel - I have one unit which is the original one they installed 1999 (almost  20 years ago) when I signed and the original IQ1 from only 10 years ago. Streaming is in standard PAL quality in 2018! FHD should be the standard for PAY TV  - yet they want to milk money on every turn, thus is optional . Once the NBN completes in my area (due November this year), will ditch Foxtel (already have Netflix) and perhaps Telstra as well as they forgot to care about their existing customers. Foxtel over Telstra is a perfect example as direct Foxtel subscribers are better off (somebody asked about net streaming, that is only for direct Foxtel subscribers). Sadly, the day I switch to other carrier, I will start getting calls from Telstra , something they have not done in decade. Because I pay my $210 per month and they are happy. What about me, Telstra? You wouldn't care - would you?

This is another price hike for less quality. $12 per month price hike for the basic plus essentials package is outrageous. This is what you get for being a loyal customer of Foxtel for 20 years and never asking for anything! This will see us depart from Foxtel without any doubt, and there will be plenty who will do similar. Your advertising has increased fourfold, we are getting less for more dollars. In this day and time with so many other competitors and live streaming increasing, it comes a time for us and Foxtel to go our separate ways. Very disappointed in Foxtel’s business plan, and I would urge the powers that be to reconsider this outrageous price gouge, as this will see many subscribers leaving this business. Again I repeat this is very disappointing and leaves us no other option. Thanks a lot Foxtel. Bye 👋

Of course Telstra is also to be held accountable for this outrageous price gouge. Typical big business behaviour in this non loyalty climate we live in today. Long term customer, ha, that means nothing! Ok then, we all have other options, and we will pursue these other alternatives. What other business raises their prices by this outrageous amount and expects us to just accept all the spin to justify the rise? See ya Telstra.

I do not agree with the price rise.   We get nothing from Foxtel, everything is re-runs all the time, show I have watched at lease 10 years ago and run over and over again.   Surely the subscription we pay should enable to Foxtel to at least put some new programmes on.   I may look into alternatives, I have been a customer for more than twenty years, except for the sport there is nothing new to watch on Foxtel.  Very disappointing.

it could be the final nail in the coffin for me after 20 years.

i was platinum HD until you lost the EPL, now you've lost champions league.

all your programs are so full of adverts, it's like watching FTA tv.

i understand FTA have to earn money, but we PAY you, yes pay for your programs.

we are now constantly bombarded by the same adverts for your shows, it's very annoying.

most of your programs are very old old repeats.

TBH i've just looked at your channels, and there's very little that interests me anymore.

thanks for the push,
